Fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad and More with SeraPride and Patch Linden

SeraPRIDE is back for 2023! Working together with the amazing SL community to raise funds for Rainbow Railroad – a charity dedicated to ensuring the safety of LGBTQIA+-identifying people. SeraPRIDE will feature a silent auction, live music, virtual dance parties, a drag competition, custom-designed entertainment, and a special themed vendor area where users can purchase digital items to support the cause. Rainbow Railroad works with LGBTQIA+ individuals facing persecution and violence simply because of their sexual identity by helping secure relocation, safety, and support. Since 2006, Rainbow Railroad has helped more than 7,621 persecuted individuals from over 38 countries.

Among the many amazing things auctioned there are a couple that made me smile, those offered by Patch Linden. He is an amazing human being and is always up to lend a helping hand whenever possible so if you want to spend and hour or half an hour with him, this is your chance to help a great cause and have fun with Patch!

Remember that if you cannot afford the things auctioned, you can always donate as much or as little as you can to the donation kiosks.

June is AKERUKA’s anniversary month and as always (for many years now), they are giving a great gift to their group members. We usually get a male and a female heads in June, but this time to honour Pride Month we are getting a unisex one. You can find male and female versions in the pack. Pride is a lovely head and you can modify it to your heart’s content. It’s amazing how different skins and shapes can transform a head. AKERUKA usually gifts another two heads in December. So just for a 150L$ fee you get 4 heads (sometimes more: we got also a baby head last year so 5 heads) a year. I have lost count of how many years I’ve been in the group and this is one group I am not leaving!

This gift will be available for 2 weeks only, after that the price will go up. Pay 1L$ to the vendor (the gifts are given through a vendor so you can get redeliveries in the future) to get this lovely gift. Remember to activate your group tag to get it for that price.

This head does not include a skin, but you can use any EVOX skins for it. I’ll write a post about free and cheap skins available. Don’t forget to have a look at the weekend sales, there are always lots of great skins at great prices in there.

If you want to match the look of the head in the picture, you can get the skin at the store (It’s to the right of the head vendors) at a reduced price for a limited time.

Celebrate Diversity with Second Pride!

Lots of things to do and see this month (events, parties, shopping, gifts, fundraisers… and so much more), far too many to fit them all in one post so there may be quite a few Pride posts this month. No, I’m not gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, intersex, or asexual. I just think everybody should have equal rights.

Celebrate diversity at Second Pride! This destination is the headquarters of the Second Pride organization in Second Life. Second Pride has held annual events since 2005, featuring plenty of music and fun. Spread across two regions, with everything from cityscape to a massive beach and boardwalk, all centered around a huge park that spans both regions. There are shops on the pier, carnival rides, a zipline over the beach, a working trolley to take you on a tour, and more!
